The Dec/Jan issue of New Zealand’s number one travel magazine, Let’s Travel, is out now and it features two of my articles. One is on the jungle adventures of Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands – click here to link to my recent photo essay about this – and the other is on the Chinese city of Xian and the famed Terracotta Warriors.
Click here to link to Let’s Travel where you can subscribe to either the print of digital versions of the magazine. While the Terracotta Warriors are mind-blowing and justifiably a major international drawcard, a large focus of the article is also on what a beautiful and easy city Xian is. Clean, safe, forward-thinking, architecturally inspired, both modern and historic – Xian is a destination in and of itself.
Thanks again to Cathay Pacific New Zealand who flew us from Auckland, via Hong Kong and onto mainland China. The business class was impeccable and the first class lounge in Hong Kong has to be seen to be believed.
Huge thanks also once again to Wendy Wu Tours who organised our itinerary and who make travel through this enormous country fun and hassle-free. Enjoy the images – especially the one of me and my sweatbands cycling the Xian Wall – and don’t forget to subscribe to Let’s Travel!
