It started with a video of regular Newstalk ZB caller Sue (known as Housing New Zealand Sue because of her devotion to topics related to state housing) and now with a photo of fellow talkback stalwart Little Brucie of Little Wanganui, an idea has cemented itself. Why not create a page of photos of the characters – both callers and staff – of New Zealand’s #1 rated station?
The recently uploaded video of Sue on The Two’s Facebook page (
Facebook.com/zbthetwo) had been a huge success – people really wanted to know what she looked like. But nothing prepared us for the popularity of Little Brucie’s photo. For years ZB listeners have been entertained by the cheeky grandpa from the West Coast with his all times of the day and night phone calls. What did Little Brucie of Little Wanganui actually look like though? Turns out exactly as about 95% (judging by the Facebook comments) expected. “Cute as a button!” said at least half a dozen people.
So here they are, Little Brucie and Housing New Zealand Sue. But wait, there’s more! Much more in fact. *As of January 18 we also now have photos of Ron From Christchurch the Singing Taxi Driver, Pete the Urban Maori, Request Sue, Co-op Taxis Mikey, Adrienne & Her Mouldy Pizza and Hans the Dutch Baker. We currently await photos of Netball & Movies Kelvin, Dear Helen, Dave the Security Guard, Sweet Alan Of Timaru, Deano the Dairy Farmer, Jeanetta the Hermaphrodite, “Ah Yes Hello” Mark who has a Hannah Montana duvet and other entrenched regulars.
Another Brucie – longtime ZB host Bruce Russell – is also included, so too photos of my co-host on The Two Tim Wilson, fill-in co-host Mark Dye and original co-host Pam Corkery. I can't believe that I "know" all the callers tha you have listed. Obviously I listen too much! I am in the 5.0 % that didn't think Little Brucie would look like his photo. Ah well, happens some time.

Great to see pics – but of 'Mikey"??? Please God NOOOOOOOO!! I turn off now when he comes on.
Mikey is soooo gorgeous and a beuatiful person, he's unbelievable. Has visited us twice and he fits in as though we've known him forever.

It's Mikey! I have coffee with him every now and then! He is a beautiful person and so is his mother Marie in Scotland!!! Love them both!!! Trust me… IT'S THE REAL MIKEY!! 🙂

I am surprised of all the people I listen too, their voices do not match their faces, its amazing when you listen to someone and imagine what they look like then see a pic and they don't look like how they sound, your voice Tim does not match your face, but a very pleasant face you have, luv listening to you.
DON'T bring back Pam! The recent partners have great senses of humour, speak well and are DECENT people.

Pam thinks and speaks like many a "working girl', and no amount of her natural intelligence will upgrade the atmoshere she generates. Great friend no doubt but maybe write a book Pam. Love you best with Mark or as a lone host Tim, you are outstanding : )
Love your show Tim you never get ruffled with the callers – It is so nice to see the regulars – I am always looking forward to Bruce coming on with his wonderful tales.

His name is Ewing Stevens. I was a bridesmaid for my friend many moons ago and he was the officiating minister and yes as far as I know he is still with us

Hi there to Bruce and Jim. I love both of you. Boy, sometimes you need a lot of patience with some people. It surprises me though that most of the callers are male, and some can’t string a sentence together, (just saying).That’s my only bugbearI really miss Brucie as he had such an interesting life. Wonderful to know all about his shop days. It reminded me of my childhood as there was a corner store in Masterton in Kuripuni which had everything in there. The owner was a man named Mr Murdoch. I’m pretty sure a lot of folk would remember him. I was only in primary school then, and we had to call him Mr Murdoch, so didn’t ever know his Christian name. He knew where every item was, was always smiling and passing time of day. He knew every customer by their name. Your never get that these days. Crikey, go to the warehouse and there’s not one person to help you with clothing or anything for that matter. Don’t like that, it’s so cold. You both doing a great job, and can’t help but say to you that I cannot for the life of me, get to sleep without having you both beside me just a little bit of fun ,but it’s true. If the wireless isn’t on, I lay there until the birds start singing, then curse them for keeping me awake. Keep up the great work and never retire, both of you. All the best for this Xmas if we ever end up being able to celebrate it. Raewyn mills. Your shows ROCK.
