The cover of the latest Let’s Travel mag. |
The latest issue of New Zealand’s premier travel magazine Let’s Travel is out and it features two of my articles. One is about my return to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia where I lived as a child and the other is about the incredibly photogenic and historic town of Akaroa in New Zealand’s South Island.
Focusing on Akaroa for this blog piece, here are my top 30 photos from my couple of days there in late August. I stayed at a luxury B&B built in 1878 called Beaufort House and would strongly recommend it if you love a bit of history with your hospitality. The Let’s Travel article explains the origins of how the house was first built as a sanctuary for a wealthy man’s sickly wife. Also find out about Akaroa’s French heritage, including how the Brits only beat their French colonial rivals by a matter of days in claiming the area.

For Beaufort House in Akaroa please visit beauforthouse.co.nz. Noel and Sharon are the hosts / owners and are super friendly. Click here for a further Roxborogh Report article mentioning Beaufort House and Akaroa as part of a Canterbury road trip feature also including Christchurch and the alpine town of Tekapo.
Enjoy the photos – these are my top 30 from Beaufort House and Akaroa. I had to edit down all the cute little lamb photos which was no mean feat! And forgive me for a shockingly posed #casuallean next to the famous lighthouse – I’m trying to get a #casuallean fad started (mixed results so far).
Thanks for reading and do subscribe to Let’s Travel mag if you’re a fellow travel nut.
